Using equal parts basil and kale gives this pesto great flavor with an added health boost. Flax seeds are a great alternative to nuts typically found in pesto, but if they aren't your thing, try sunflower seeds.
Ingredients
2 cups packed basil leaves
2 cups packed kale, tough stems removed
¾ cup flax seeds
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
¼ cup lemon juice
5-8 cloves garlic
1 tsp salt
1 cup parmesan cheese
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a food processor, adding the cheese last.
